Dana Andriksen kicked opened the door of her Montville, New Jersey townhome. It had been a really long night. In the morning she was drinking alcohol at her antique store while telling her new employee that he would be a fantastic girl. That evening, she was getting texts from them that their father was attacking them while drunk. She had raced over from Montville to Dover to get her new employee and make sure they were safe. After talking for a while and stopping by Dover police for an official interview and statement with Dahlia, she drove home. The clock said 3:45am. She took off her shoes and showed Dahlia to the guest room upstairs. She knew tomorrow would be a busy day, as she promised Dahlia would get to blossom. No work, just fun.
Dahlia Robinson was also exhausted, having walked up to the room Dana showed her. It had a few pictures of Dawn Andrews, her former partner, recently deceased. Dahlia thought to herself, “Dawn meant everything to Dana, as she told me in her office when she started crying. Dana said she saw Dawn in me and knew I was the type. I don’t know entirely what she meant, but I know she only wants what’s best for me. I only hope so. This is my chance.” Dahlia placed the stuff she needed on the nightstand and crawled into bed. Dana looked on from the outside the door and soon walked in to see if Dahlia was going to be ok.
“How’s my girl doing?” Dana asked.
“Exhausted, a bit depressed. Today was not what I wanted, until now anyway.” Dahlia responded. “My father apparently is behind held in a drunk tank tonight until the police release him to the custody of his lawyer. I hope he doesn’t know where we are.”
“I certainly hope he doesn’t, but if he does, you know I will protect you. Get some rest, we got a lot of shopping to do tomorrow.”
Dana flipped off the light and within 5 minutes, Dahlia was out on the guest bed. Dana waited a couple minutes, stared at Dahlia sleeping in bed and thought about the last few months of her life. Since Dawn had passed, she’d done nothing but drink. Drink and drink more. Trying to repress the pain of losing her beloved Dawn Andrews to pancreatic cancer. The girl she loved since high school and one of the few to accept her being transgender. Now, she had a chance to find someone else in her life where she could help them blossom again. As she crawled into the bed she once shared with Dawn, she thought that eventually Dahlia could be on her side. She felt her cock for a few minutes before turning off the light and falling asleep.
“Wake up Dahlia. It’s almost noon.”
Dana walked into the guest room where Dahlia was still fast asleep (and cute). Dana was in a full length black dress with black tshirt under it. She was wearing black stockings as well, hinting on a night on the town, even though it was 11:50 in the morning. Dana pressed on Dahlia’s back until the young college student woke up. She rubbed her eyes and looked at her boss.
“You’re certainly ready to go. I thought we were going shopping, not to a club.”
“Silly, I wear stuff like this when I go shopping. Easier to look y when trying new clothes on. I even have black lingerie on under this outfit. I prepared a little outfit for you.”
In her arms was a small navy blue dress and pink tshirt and some Mary Janes to wear while shopping. Since Dahlia had her own panties, there was no reason to give her one. Dahlia graciously accepted the outfit and put it on in front of Dana. Meanwhile, Dana looked her all over for herself, craving getting her hands on her employee much like she had Dawn. Dana was full of excitement for today, but so far everything she’d done proved she was right that “Davey” was really hiding a beautiful girl.
“You look great in that, Dahlia. Here are your glasses. Don’t worry about makeup this afternoon. I’ll take you to a salon after we get some shopping done and have lunch. We got a bit of a drive to Short Hills to go get some good stuff.”
“Short Hills? You mean the Mall at Short Hills? The rich people mall?”
“Yep. Look, Dawn and I were pretty well off even when she was sick. She also left me a decent amount of money in insurance. I won’t be spending $200,000 on you today but I certainly have enough to get you a new wardrobe all your own.”
“Alright.”
Dahlia slipped on the Mary Janes and headed downstairs. Dana just watched her go down the stairs and had to stop her cock from getting really excited. Dana slipped on her heels that matched the outfit and grabbed her keys and purse. She locked the door and walked out to her car sitting in the driveway.
“Let’s make the most of this beautiful day.” she thought to herself.
It was almost 1pm before they pulled into the parking garage at the Mall at Short Hills. Dana parked on the roof floor of the parking garage and took her keys. Dahlia jumped out in her Mary Janes and had a nervous smile on her face. Dana instantly noticed.
“What’s wrong, Dahlia? Aren’t you excited?”
“Nothing, Ms. A, I mean Dana. I’m still just in deep thought about last night. I don’t know what my father will do. My mother hasn’t bothered to text me or even dare ask where I am. I just hope nothing happens.”
“Look, as I said last night, you’re safe with me. No matter what. So let’s get you what you wanted.”
“Alright.”
Dahlia grabbed Dana’s hand for comfort. Dana smiled looking at her younger partner but didn’t say anything more. They just walked into the mall.
First stop was Neiman Marcus. “What better place to find clothes than a department store is there?” Dana thought.
Dana looked up and down racks for new shirts and skirts for her young employee to wear. Martini Antiques was important to her, but she didn’t mind of Dahlia had a little flare in her outfits rather than a total professional. She was paying Dahlia to help get advertising for her store and more clothes to help her shine. It had been a long time since she had gone shopping with a partner and she had not gone shopping since Dawn’s death. For the first time in months, the thought of alcoholic repression wasn’t on her mind. Dahlia had helped just give Dana a chance for a new start. She was the one Dana wanted to blossom, so Dana wanted to be the wind.
Dana handed a bunch of chosen outfits to Dahlia to try in the fitting room. She said to Dahlia to take her time while she looked for more shoes. Dahlia scooted off to the fitting room while Dana wandered to the shoe section. She found several more Mary Janes, a couple heels and some flats for her new employees. Dahlia looked really cute in Mary Janes and Dana wanted to accentuate it. She grabbed all of them and wandered to the fitting room to check on Dahlia. Dahlia was in a black skirt and black tshirt and looked gorgeous. Dana handed her black heels and wanted to see how she looked. When Dahlia opened the door, Dana’s jaw dropped.
“Dahlia, I want you to wear this the days you work at my store. You’ll look really good and not keeping a stuffy attitude. Plus, I’ll love to watch you strut around in it.”
The smile on Dahlia’s face was ear to ear compared to earlier when she was clearly nervous. Now she seemed to be in her element. She tried on the rest of the outfits and Dana walked with her back to cashiers where she paid for all of the clothes, coming close to $700. After that, they wandered to a store to grab lunch.
“You’re gonna look fantastic, Dahlia.”
“Thanks so much, Ms. A, err Dana. Damn it.” Dahlia said nervously. “I don’t know how to thank you.”
Dana chuckled at her young friend’s face turning bright red in embarrassment.
“It’s ok, Dahlia. I wanted to do this. It was my promise. Finish your shake then we’ll head to another store.”
Dahlia finished up and threw out the shake. After that it was off to Victoria’s Secret to get her some lingerie.
“Wow, Victoria’s Secret?!” Dahlia screamed.
“Yes, Dahlia. You’ll love it. I wanna get you some lingerie for those outfits and some thigh high socks.”
After saying that, Dahlia ran inside to look around like a kid in a candy store. She grabbed outfits she liked and went to try them on. Dana walked up to the cashier, a friend of hers from college, to chat.
“Been a while, Maria. How are you?”
“Fine. You look like you’ve been through hell. How’s Evan?”
When Maria said “Evan”, that triggered tears from her blue eyes. She started to cry.
“What’s wrong, Dana?”
“Dawn, I mean Evan, died a few months ago. Pancreatic cancer. Age 29. And you wanna know why I look like hell? I’ve done nothing but drink since Evan died. Not used to call him that anymore because he died Dawn Andrews, not Evan. Been a long time since I have had to call him by his birth name.”
“I’m so sorry, Dana. I didn’t realize it was that bad. What brought you in here today?”
“I have a new employee, Dahlia. She’s a transgender woman who I am buying her first own outfits. Like us, she is a student at Montclair. Communications major.”
“You certainly have a type, Dana.”
“I do. I think Dahlia will make a great employee at the store.”
At that point, Dahlia walked up to Dana with her picked outfits and Maria rang it up. $200 more for all this. Maria bagged it all and handed the bag to Dahlia.
“Congrats young lady, you have a great new boss.” she mentioned to Dahlia.
“I know I do.” Dahlia responded. “Ready to go, Dana? You said we were going to the salon.”
“Salon? Damn, Dana, you really know how to go all out.” said Maria.
“Well, I had experience with Evan, I mean Dawn. Dahlia ain’t the first.”
After that she turned with Dahlia and wandered out to her car with Dahlia skipping next to her. Her phone rang while walking back to the car.
“Dana Andriksen.”
There was some muffling on the phone call.
“Are you serious? Thank you.”
She hung up and looked at the happy young transgender woman next to her. “Dahlia, we need to get home. There’s a problem at the townhouse. I’ll take you the salon tomorrow.”
Dana loaded Dahlia’s bags in the trunk and turned on the engine. She hit Route 24 and Interstate 287 to race home, not even stopping at QuickChek on Route 202. She pulled up to the townhouse, where 2 police officers were standing.
Someone broke into the house.
